Sherri Schrull, aka Sherri Martel or Sensational Sherri (born Sherri Russell, February 8, 1958 – June 15, 2007), was a pro wrestling star and manager. She kicked off her career in Mid South after trainin’ in Columbia, South Carolina.
In the mid-’80s, she joined the American Wrestling Association (AWA) and snagged the AWA World Women’s Championship three times. Later, she jumped to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where she nabbed the WWF Women’s Championship and managed big names like Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, and Shawn Michaels. In the ’90s, she popped up in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where she ran with the tag team Harlem Heat. After WCW, she kept a low profile in wrestling until her passing in 2007.
